On the job

The four parts of a Utah move, in order.

Our own movers, our own photographs: the four things that happen between your two doors.

  1. The house comes first

Protection is laid at both ends before any furniture moves.

  2. Everything wrapped

Furniture is blanket-wrapped and shrink-wrapped before it leaves the room.

  3. Loaded tight

Stacked in tiers and strapped row by row, so nothing shifts over the miles.

  4. Into the right room

Unloaded into the rooms you point to, on the date in your contract.

What we do

Services built around your move.

Utah's distinguishing service demand is volume. Households here are larger than the national average, so full packing and larger crews are the norm rather than the exception, and canyon-property moves to Park City and the Cottonwoods often need storage while winter access clears.

  1. Long Distance

Cross-country and interstate relocations. We coordinate logistics, customs paperwork, and destination unpacking — all door to door.

  2. White Glove

Concierge moving at the top of the range: we pack every item, move it, unpack it, put the furniture where you want it, and hang the artwork.

  3. Residential

Studios through to large family houses. Furniture comes apart, travels, and goes back together — and the crew stays until each room is set.

  4. Commercial

Office relocations handled after hours or over weekends, so your team is working from the new space on Monday morning — no downtime.

  5. Packing & Crating

Gallery-standard packing for artwork, antiques, and delicate pieces — and purpose-built crates made at your address when stock sizes don't fit.

  6. Storage

Secure, climate-controlled units under round-the-clock monitoring — a few weeks or a few years, insured and inventoried the whole time.

Pricing

What your Utah move actually costs, and why.

We would rather explain the price than advertise one. A number produced without a survey has nothing behind it, which is how people end up owing more than they were told. These are the factors that move the cost of a Utah move — itemized up front, fixed once agreed.

01Distance and lane
Your route sets the floor. Our Utah lanes run from about 350 miles to Idaho out to roughly 1,170 miles to Texas. Sharing a trailer with other households costs less than a dedicated truck; a dedicated truck buys you a delivery date instead of a spread.
02Access at both ends
Loading conditions swing the bill more than most people expect. A driveway you can back a fifty-three-foot trailer into is a different job from a third-floor walk-up on a permit-only street. We look at the approach at origin and destination up front so nothing is discovered with the truck already loaded.
03How much packing you want
Packing scope is the lever customers control most directly. Full service is the common choice on interstate lanes because a properly packed carton is the difference between a load that arrives whole and one that doesn't. A split — you do the soft goods, we do glass, art and electronics — is just as workable. Built-to-fit crates for anything oversized are quoted on their own.
04Storage between dates
Few moves go straight from door to door on the same day. Where they don't, we hold the shipment in storage-in-transit under the same inventory, and the cost of those weeks is written into your quote from the start. Climate-controlled space is the sensible choice for wood, leather, and anything with a circuit board.
05Valuation and protection
Coverage is not optional on an interstate move — the federal minimum released-value protection is built into every shipment for free. What you choose is whether to step up to Full Value Protection, which repairs, replaces, or settles at market value and is the sensible call for a high-value load.
Local notes

Leaving Utah: the local detail that matters.

Every state has its own access problems, weather windows, and rules. Here's what shapes a Utah move in practice.

STEP 01

Roads & access

I-15 runs the length of the state and I-80 crosses east–west, meeting at Salt Lake City — one of the best-connected points in the Mountain West. Wasatch Front suburban access is easy. The complications are the canyons: Park City, Deer Valley, and the Cottonwood canyon properties have steep grades, avalanche closures in winter, and HOA restrictions during ski season. Southern Utah's remote areas involve long distances between services. Main corridors: I-15, I-80, I-84, US-6.

STEP 02

Timing your move

Peak is May through August, driven by the school calendar and by the large family homes that dominate the market. Winter moves along the Wasatch Front are usually fine, but canyon access to Park City and the Cottonwoods can be closed by avalanche control with no notice. Summer heat in St. George exceeds 105°F regularly and requires dawn starts. September and October are the best statewide window.

STEP 03

Who is moving, and why

Utah is strongly net inbound, drawing from California, Nevada, Arizona, Texas, and Washington. The Wasatch Front absorbs most of it, with Utah County around Lehi and the Silicon Slopes tech corridor growing especially fast. St. George and Washington County have grown at a remarkable rate on retiree and remote-worker inflow. Outbound volume is comparatively modest and mostly regional.

STEP 04

Licensing to check

Interstate moves out of Utah are federal: look for an active USDOT number and FMCSA authority. Ours are USDOT #4575745 and MC-1820728. Movers operating only inside the state answer instead to the Utah Department of Transportation Motor Carrier Division — a registration that is not authority to take your belongings across the line.

Good to know

Three Utah problems worth knowing about.

Most overruns on a Utah move trace back to one of the three below. We ask about all three up front so the price reflects them from the start.

01

Large household inventories

Utah homes average more occupants and more storage than the national norm. We size crews and trucks off an actual survey rather than bedroom count, because a Utah four-bedroom often weighs more than a four-bedroom elsewhere.

02

Canyon avalanche closures

Little Cottonwood, Big Cottonwood, and the Park City approaches close for avalanche control in winter with little warning. Those delivery windows carry a contingency day.

03

St. George summer heat

Southwest Utah routinely exceeds 105°F in summer. Loading starts at dawn and heat-sensitive items get flagged the same way they do in Phoenix or Las Vegas.

FAQ

What Utah customers ask us first.

The things people actually ask before booking Utah movers for a move out of state.

Often, yes. Utah has one of the largest average household sizes in the country, and homes here tend to carry more storage — food storage rooms, garage shelving, outdoor gear. A Utah four-bedroom frequently weighs meaningfully more than a four-bedroom elsewhere, which changes both the truck and the crew we send. It is the main reason we survey by video or in person rather than sizing a job from a bedroom count over the phone.

Salt Lake City to Dallas is roughly 1,250 miles and to Houston about 1,450 — 5 to 9 days consolidated, 2 to 3 days dedicated. St. George origins run several hundred miles shorter to the Texas metros.

Yes. Two constraints apply: canyon roads close for avalanche control in winter with little notice, and many resort HOAs restrict truck access during ski season. We build a contingency into winter windows and confirm HOA rules before the date.

Yes, it is one of the fastest-growing markets we work. The main planning factor is summer heat — 105°F-plus days mean dawn loading and climate-controlled handling for heat-sensitive items, the same protocol we use in Phoenix.

Yes, under two different regimes. Household goods moving over a state line fall to the FMCSA, which issues the USDOT number and the operating authority that goes with it — we hold USDOT #4575745 and MC-1820728. Check any mover's numbers on the FMCSA's free SAFER lookup before you pay a deposit.

If a company only moves people around inside Utah, its registration comes from the Utah Department of Transportation Motor Carrier Division and stops at the state line — it is no licence to take your belongings interstate. That mismatch is the commonest fault in competitor paperwork customers forward to us. Add two more checks of your own: binding price or revisable estimate, and carrier or broker. We are a carrier quoting binding fixed prices, moving you with our own crew on our own truck.
