How long does a move from NYC to California take?
It is the longest haul we run, so plan on about a week or more from pickup, depending on the load and where in California you are going. Your delivery window is agreed and written into the contract before loading.
Can I bring my plants on a move to California?
It is best not to. California inspects shipments for plants, soil and fresh produce that could carry pests, and a moving truck is no place for a houseplant on a cross-country drive. Give them away in New York City or take a few with you in the car.
Do you deliver to both Northern and Southern California?
Yes. We deliver from San Diego to the Oregon border: Los Angeles, Orange County, the Inland Empire, the Bay Area, Sacramento and the smaller towns in between. Give us the full address so we can plan for the street.
My California street is steep or narrow. Can the truck get there?
We check the access before moving day and plan where the truck will park, how far the crew carries and whether a parking permit is needed. Tell us about steps, slopes and tight turns when you book.
Should I pack myself for such a long move?
You can pack some or all of it yourself. For a cross-country haul we suggest professional packing at least for fragile and awkward pieces, since they spend days in a moving trailer. The survey is a good time to decide who packs what.
Can you store my things until my California home is ready?
Yes. If a lease starts late or a closing slips, we hold your shipment in climate-controlled storage and deliver when you have the keys. It stays inventoried and insured the whole time.
